GENERATION BLUE | WATER PLATFORM | | Water initiative The Austrian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management initiated 5 years ago a dedicated program in order to get in touch with the young generation and involve them for their future responsibility for water management: “Generation Blue”. Generation Blue is a master project, following the educational efforts of the ministry in communicating environmental activities and participation of schools and young people.  Generation Blue is water platform for young people with clear focus on water

GENERATION BLUE | WATER PLATFORM | | „Generation Blue“ Generation Blue is a nationwide water platform to invite young people to get information, participate and understand the variety of water and thus raise their awareness to sustainable environment especially water and water related issues. It provides exciting information on water, as well as lots of fun and action on the subject of water. It is the biggest water project for the youth in Austria and cooperates with pedagogic institutes, schools and teachers under participation of public and private entities.

GENERATION BLUE | WATER PLATFORM | | Communication approach Generation Blue is providing the umbrella for different activities and projects in order to penetrate the water-related content for regional, national and cross national activities and programs:  Dedicated Corporate Identity (CI) and Corporate Design (CD)  Communication channels focusing on internet and direct-response tools  Relevant media selection (youth homepage, youth magazines, …)  On-the-spot presence (youth events, educational fairs,….)  Cooperation, workshops and projects with schools and teachers  Creation and distribution of information and identification tools (buttons, tattoos, CR ROMs, online-games, …)

GENERATION BLUE | WATER PLATFORM | | Danube Challenge  Learning more about Europeans most international river: The Danube  22 young people are on a 4-days adventure trip with a boat on the Danube  Various activities (knowledge, nature and sports) during the 4 days boat trip from Linz via Bratislava to Vienna offer the possibility to collect points. The team with the highest score after the final event in Vienna is the winner of the yearly Danube Challenge.  Via Generation Blue the teams are recruited and the Danube Challenge is supported by daily blogs on the Generation Blue webpage
