WHAT IS ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY? In this real world there are so many persons who have some physical and mental disabilities. The technology that helps persons who are suffering from disabilities. Some of these peoples cannot done some jobs themselves So, they done such jobs by the help of some devices. By using such devices those peoples can done the jobs.

The devices used for assistive technology are mainly used for defects such as,  Visual impairments.  Mobility impairments.  Language impairments.  Learning impairments.

VISUAL IMPAIRMENTS There are so many peoples have visual deficiencies. So many devices and technologies are available to help such peoples. Some of these devices are, For peoples who are visually disable OUTPUT:- Screen magnifier This technology are useful for person have less visuality. The portion of mouse pointer is magnified and displayed. This facility have been added from Windows 98.

Speech recognision system It is also called voice recognision system. In this method the input is provided by the voice of the person than using the mouse or keyboard. The input is provided through the microphone connected to the computer. The voice recognision system converts the voice in to the form of text or in to the form of navigation commands.

Text to speech The programs in the computer speeches the letters, numbers, symbols etc loudly to the persons. Refreshable braily The device which displays the output of the screen of a system to tactile braily. Braily embosser This is a braily printer. This printer prints the computer generated signals to the form of braily.

Screen reading software Screen reader is the technique that converts the Graphical User Interface (GUI) to Audio User Interface.

INPUT:- Onscreen Keyboard This is a technique that displaying a virtual image of the keyboard on the screen. Typing can be possible using the external interfacing devices such as mouse, touch screen etc…. Touch Screen It is to input data directly through the screen instead of external input Sdevices.

Alternative Keyboard The mouses and keyboards that can be used by a single hand. Sip & puff system Controlling the computer using the movement of lips or respiratory system. Joy Stick Track ball

Reading pen Devices used for childrens who have Dislexia. Unknown words are scanned and displays it on the screen of the device. Web Ainiware This is a self voice screen reader. This is helpful for persons for browsing who have visual impairements. This is a software which reads the content of a browser. Eg;- Windows JAWS.

Smart pen Device used to record speech and words that are writing on a special paperand synchronized. It is look like an ordinary pen, but it is a multi model computer. Easy reader Device that scans the texts on a paper and and displays it as image on a screen

Camera mouse Free software used in Windows OS. Controlling mouse using the movements of the head. Intel reader Developed by Intel Corporation. It convert the printed text to digita ltext and reads it to the users.
