We are going to go into the CN Technology System and I will show you the site application and what items you will need to complete. CN Technology System Tutorial

Remember, the same Federal and State requirements for operating the NSLP in a compliant manner also apply to the SSO. Procurement, Menus, and Staffing

These issues should be discussed between the CN Administrator and the respective Superintendent and/or Principal, or Camp Administrator prior to the beginning of operation. Decisions with a plan in place should be effective day one of SSO operation through the last day of SSO operation. Transportation, Security, and Adult Supervision

The SFA’s HACCP plan for the NSLP also applies to the SSO. If food is being transported for the purpose of the SSO, the SFA’s HACCP plan should reflect this. HACCP and SSO

Advertise! Advertise! Advertise! Include the Non-Discrimination statement when advertising the SSO and on all printed SSO materials. It should read: “In accordance with Federal law and U.S. Department of Agriculture policy, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability. To file a complaint of discrimination, write USDA, Director, Office of Adjudication, 1400 Independence Avenue, SW, Washington, D.C or call toll free (866) (Voice). Individuals who are hearing impaired or have speech disabilities may contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at (800) ; or (800) (Spanish). USDA is an equal opportunity provider and employer.” Display a USDA “And Justice for All” poster at every SSO site…even outdoor sites. Civil Rights

All SSO monthly claims must be filed electronically in the CN Technology System on or before the 10 th of the month following the serving month. Remember for the entire summer of 2013 (June, July, and August), for all SSO purposes use SY Finances and Filing Monthly SSO Claims

Every SSO site must have an On-Site Review conducted by the SFA’s CN Administrator at least once during operation. This review needs to mailed, scanned and e- mailed or faxed to Janice Ezzell within 10 business days of the review. The 2013 review form is included in the SSO packet. SSO Reviews

SFA’s with an Administrative Review scheduled for school year will have a SSO review by the CN Services Regional Operations Consultant during either the summer of 2013 or SSO Reviews (State Level)

Keep this SSO checklist handy for quick reference to be reminded when something for the SSO is due or required. USDA Revised 2013 Edition of Questions and Answers for the SSO (SP ) includes the USDA Guidance for SSO. Other Handouts for the Seamless Summer Option Program
