Bryan Station Middle School USGBC Center for Green Schools Green Apple Day of Service Sustainability Expo + Garden Installation + Landscaping Bryan Station Middle School served as FCPS’s National Green Apple Day of Service pilot school.

The focus was to support/encourage healthy, sustainable schools by taking action in their communities. For one day, advocates from around the world, including students, teachers, parents and elected officials, as well as international green building councils, USGBC chapters, member companies and more, will come together in support of healthy, sustainable schools by taking action in their communities. Our vast network of champions will demonstrate the strength and breadth of our movement, leaving a meaningful and lasting local impact.

The Sustainability Expo in the school lobby included representatives from the following organizations to provide educational outreach and sustainable snacks:  Whole Foods  Lexington Farmers Market  Locust Trace Agriscience Farm  Good Foods Coop  Farm To School  Seedleaf  Bluegrass PRIDE  KY National Energy Education Development project  Sustainable Communities Network
