The Skiing Pupils will be allocated into skiing groups with up to 12 people in a group. You need to give your ski ability details to Mrs Calcutt after this presentation so that groups can be sorted. Staff are allocated duties that are attached to the ski groups.

Attitude to skiing Learning to ski is very hard especially the first 2 days. You will have aching feet, sore toes and shins. You will feel sick and tired. You will be worried, you are out of your comfort zone. All of this is perfectly normal. It takes 3 days to master the basics and that is why you will be given plenty of tough love. You are likely to hear from all staff, “pull yourself together”, “get on with it”, to “buck up”, “to get up”, “no you can’t stay in bed”, “you are skiing today”. This trip has cost £900 for you to learn to ski which is what you will do. Parents you need to be aware that the first 2 days will be tough and phone calls home could reflect this. Please encourage your daughter and support us in our roles on the trip which is to get your daughter to ski.

The Lessons Helmets must be worn by law at all times. Girls will only ski with an instructor. 5 hours skiing a day am – 1.00pm 2pm – 4pm TBC No free skiing or practising. Girls must listen carefully at all times to the instructor. Everyone skis – opting out is not an option as this takes out a member of staff from supervision. Treat the instructor with respect they are the EXPERTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Après Ski

Après Ski - Activities All have to be paid for in advance These activities will include: Disco night Karaoke night Snow tubing Awards evening Swimming – swimming cap required The cost of all of these activities and a ski trip hoodie is £55.00 each. Please pay via parent pay by Friday 6th March

But most of all!!!!! It is a holiday so enjoy yourselves. Make it easy for the staff to enjoy themselves too.

Remember Staff work extremely hard all week to ensure you all have an excellent holiday. Say thank you to them from time to time as they have given up a week of their holiday for you!

Behaviour Beverley High School has an excellent reputation abroad. Must be excellent all week and at all times. No one is allowed to smoke or drink alcohol. No energy drinks to be brought, consumed or purchased on the trip. Parents and Pupils will be asked to read carefully and sign a contract to which they must adhere to. Sanctions will be enforced to punish poor behaviour and parents will be informed.

Beverley High School Ski Trip Contract Prato Nevoso - Italy 2015 To be completed by parents and daughters. I/We understand the importance of sensible and safe behaviour at all times on the visit. I/We understand the importance of listening carefully to all instructions given. I/We understand that the drinking of alcohol and the smoking of cigarettes is not permitted. I/We understand that the staff could enforce sanctions on the visit if any of the criteria outlined are not kept to. I/We understand that irresponsible behaviour will not be tolerated and that parents will be contacted and possibly arrangements made for return home. I/We understand that failure to maintain the high standards and expectations that Beverley High School has abroad and has had for many years could affect my position on future school visits.
