‘R EPORT OF THE P RESIDENT ’ Field Trip Where: GlaxoSmithKline’s data center in King of Prussia What: Tour of the pharmaceutical company’s facility given by a Rowan Alumni and his colleagues When: Friday, November 7 th, 2008 Time: Afternoon, exact time TBD Why: Gain first-hand knowledge of how a data center is run A chance to see the hardware and software in action Sign-ups: Please sign-up if you plan to attend Please note if you would be willing to drive a carpool Friends are welcome, but they must sign up Sign-ups will also be available on the website Trip is open to all club members, MIS students and MIS faculty

Club meeting times may have to change in order to accommodate more people Departments must schedule a minimum of 10% of their class to start at 8:00 A.M. Must have 90 or more credits, including this semester Registration opened this morning Juniors can register on Monday, October 27 th Must have 58 credits or more It officially opens at 7:00 am, but it actually opens at around 5:45 am Sophomores can register on Monday, November 3 rd Must have 24 credits or more Freshmen can register on Monday, November 10 th See an advisor if you are an underclassman! Feel free to ask any MIS Officer for personal opinions on the various courses offered, but see an advisor for the actual courses you need to take

‘R EPORT OF THE V ICE -P RESIDENT ’ Boys and Girls Club Initial Impressions What they expect from us Times and activities: Monday – Thursday 3:00 – 4:00pm is Power Hour Homework help 4:00 – 5:00pm is Club Tech Teach mini computer lessons (~30 minutes, twice in the hour) Come up with your own lesson ideas or use the guides that they have. Goal is to teach useful tech skills to the students NO Facebook, MySpace, or similar—This time is for educational purposes only

This month’s questions: What would you prefer as a cheaper alternative to pizza, that would be available before 11:00am? What do you think of the tutoring sessions so far? IF you have not been to a session, why not? Are there any new features you would like included on the club website?

When mailing to siblings, include the name of the featured child like this: Shelby (Sister of Aimee P) Remember to send "thinking of you" or "have a good day" cards rather than "get well" cards.
