As A Volunteer:  Sign in as a visitor  Wear a Visitor’s badge  End your day no later than 2:50 and please sign out  Know where to find instructions and materials  Get training on copier, laminator, etc.  TODAY – Immediately following this training  Next Tuesday, September 9 th at 1:30  Practice Confidentiality  Always remain positive!  Become familiar with safety procedures

 Any whole class snacks must meet the Smart Snacks Guidelines  NO Homemade Snacks  Smart Snack lists and calculator can be found from the Child Nutrition link on our Bush Homepage.  No carbonated beverages at any time  Unwrapped items served to class – server must wear gloves. SAFETY Procedures  Emergency Drills:  Fire  Weather  Lock Down  Evacuation  Please Exit the Building or go to a safe location IMMEDIATELY  Become familiar with what to do or where to exit the building  During a Lockdown Drill, go to the nearest classroom and follow the teacher’s directives exactly.  Safety First!

Safety Procedures Continued  When volunteering and you want to check out your own children:  When you sign out of your volunteer time at the front office, you may ask the front office staff to call your child down to the front office to be signed out. HOWEVER, PLEASE REMEMBER THAT EACH MOMENT OF THE DAY IS USED AS INSTRUCTIONAL TIME. PLEASE TRY NOT TO MAKE A HABIT OUT OF MAKING YOUR CHILD MISS OUT ON ANY OF THAT IMPORTANT TIME! No Exceptions: Students cannot be released to you directly from their classrooms.

Guidelines for Classrooms, Halls, and other Painted Areas of the School We are now NOT ALLOWED to use: Staples Scotch tape 3M hooks Masking tape Velcro Contact Paper ON walls, windows, and door and window frames… We may use MAVALUS tape or sticky tack!!

Guidelines for Classrooms, Halls and other Painted Areas of the School In the hallways : Nothing can be displayed on the bare walls. Only hallway bulletin boards may be used. This applies to event posters, etc. Hallways and classrooms must maintain an 80% paper free environment to maintain the fire resistant integrity of the area.

Lunch Room Volunteers  Looking for a few LEAD Lunch Volunteers to help all other volunteers know what to do while in the lunch room.  Sign up online at our SIGNUP GENIUS site. You can get there from our Bush Homepage!  Every time you sign up and volunteer for an entire shift, your child’s class will receive 3 YOU ROCK Volunteer Points toward their class total. All you have to do is fill out a YOU ROCK ticket, found at the front desk, before you leave the building. Fill one out for EACH of your children, each time you volunteer for lunch!!  There are shifts available every Monday-Thursday, 10:40-12:30  Either a lead volunteer or the administrator on duty will give you a short orientation and off you go!

Morning Front Porch Car Line Volunteers  Sign up online at our SIGNUP GENIUS site. You can get there from our Bush Homepage!  Every time you sign up and then come and volunteer your whole shift, you will earn 1 YOU ROCK Volunteer Ticket for your child’s class. Don’t forget to stop by the front desk before you leave to fill out your ticket!! You should fill out one for each of your children each time you volunteer for Morning Car Line!  There are shifts available every Monday-Friday, 7:30-8:15  Check in at the front office and then go back outside to begin opening doors and greeting students as they arrive by car.  Your children are welcome to attend one of our MANY early morning activities such as Mathletics, Library/Study Hall, Raz Kids, and Moveable Minutes.

Morning Moveable Minutes Volunteers  Sign up online at our SIGNUP GENIUS site. You can get there from our Bush Homepage!  Every time you sign up and then come and volunteer your whole shift, you will earn 1 YOU ROCK Volunteer Ticket for your child’s class. Don’t forget to stop by the front desk before you leave to fill out your ticket!! You should fill out one for each of your children each time you volunteer for Moveable Minutes!  There are shifts available every Monday-Friday, 7:30-7:50  Check in at the front office and then go outside to the black top area across from our Art Room. Check in with our P.E. Team and then monitor all of the Bobcats getting their blood flowing at Moveable Minutes.  Your children are welcome to attend one of our MANY early morning activities such as Mathletics, Library/Study Hall, Raz Kids, and Moveable Minutes.
