Contact Information Communication is so important to me and is so important to a successful year! If you ever need to contact me, please don’t hesitate. Here are some ways you can: School Phone: Classroom Phone:

Daily Notes Each day your student will bring home a folder with a note in it all about their day. This will give you a brief overview of your child’s day. We will also be able to let you know if your child needs any items for school. At the bottom of each note, there is a place for you to communicate back with us about what your child did that night, or any information that you want to communicate with us that you think would impact their day. It is VERY important that you read and respond on these notes EVERY day. This communication is essential to a successful classroom environment.

School Hours and Absences Our school day is from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm. In order to be able to start our school day on time, please be sure to drop off your student at the drop off area at 7:50 am. Pick up time is 2:30 pm, no later. If your child will be absent, please be sure to call the Sanborn attendance line by 8:30 am at and me at If they take the bus, also be sure to call the transportation line (480) If your child will be late, they must be signed in at the office and walked to class.

Transportation If your student will ride the bus the transportation number is (480) If you will be dropping off your student, please park on Ivanhoe and walk to drop off or pick up your student on the sidewalk in between the bus area and the school. The teachers will be waiting for you and will be getting students off the buses as well.

Lunch and Snack Our lunch time is 10:50 am. Since our lunch is earlier in the day, we will have a snack time in the afternoon. Please be sure to pack a water bottle and snack for your child each day. Classroom Management I love having a lot of fun in school and especially in our classroom! I love to celebrate wonderful behavior and hard work. I also believe in having a classroom where everyone feels safe, comfortable, happy and feels cared for. I want each and every student to succeed to his or her highest potential and I will do everything I can to make that happen. In order for this to happen, I make sure I have a well managed classroom. One management system we use in class is our rainbow penny charts. Students can earn pennies throughout the day (10 in total) to put on their rainbow chart to earn prizes for their wonderful work and behavior. Sometimes we don’t have the best days. If a student does not do what is expected, I will give them a warning. If their behavior continues they will not be able to earn a penny for their chart. Negative behaviors will be dealt with in the classroom and parents will only be contacted about negative behaviors on an as needed basis. We will start each day fresh on a positive note

General Parent Information Newsletters will be sent home weekly. These are very important to read as they contain information about the upcoming week, including special activities and spirit days, not only in our classroom, but also school wide activities. Weekly homework will include nightly reading log and spelling/sight word practice. Other homework will be sent home as needed or if not completed in class. Please be sure to return the homework daily. We are so lucky to have three wonderful paraprofessionals working in our classroom with us this year. They are: Ms. Christina Ms. Tricia Ms. Amber We are all very excited for a wonderful school year!
