Jackie Robinson’s notable career stats YearGames PlayedBatting AverageNotable Awards / Rookie of the Year (ROY) (129 votes received, won by 29 votes) / / National League (NL) MVP (264 votes received, won by 38 votes) / / / / / / / Totals: 10 years1382/1620Lifetime 311 hitter All of these stats show that Jackie Robinson fulfilled his responsibilities as a good citizen. Anytime you can hit over.300 for your life that usually means you fulfilled your responsibilities to your team. It also usually leads to a Hall Of Fame introduction (Jackie Robinson was introduced into the MLB Hall Of Fame in 1962.). Also in 1949 he won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for the Nation League (NL) which means he was voted as the best player in the Nation League at the time. Jackie Robinson also played a total of 1382 out of 1620 lifetime games. To miss only 238 lifetime games is almost unheard of. Playing that much is fulfilling your responsibility to your team and community, proving that Jackie Robinson was not only a great player, but a great citizen as well.

This clip from Jackie Robinson’s movie 42 shows how Jackie Robinson is a good citizen because he displays tolerance for others. In this clip Jackie Robinson is repeatedly getting racist remarks spit at him by the opposing teams manager. Jackie ignores these remarks and shows how he can display tolerance. This kind of racist stuff happens to Jackie all throughout his baseball career. He gets intentionally thrown at, cleated, and other visions things done to him. In the end it all pays off as, he breaks the color barrier in Major League Baseball, allowing blacks and whites to play together. The way Jackie takes all this hate makes it so people cannot say bad things about him because, he does not retaliate to it. This gives him good, positive, and respectable reputation. When people say bad things to him he uses it as motivation to get better and, prove them wrong. The way Jackie Robinson displays tolerance for others is a humongous part of why he's such a great citizen.

Famous Quotes- “There’s not an American in the country free until everyone of us is free.” “The right to ever American to first-class citizenship is the most important issue of our time.” These two quotes show that Jackie Robinson respects the rights and laws. In the first quote he is basically saying that everyone should be equal no matter what, but everyone should also follow the right laws. The second quote is saying almost the same thing as the first one. Its also saying that if we lose our rights we should fight for them and, also for others to get the same rights as us. Equality and obeying laws are some of the most important things in life and these quotes show it. With people like Jackie Robinson that follow the laws it makes the community a better and, more peaceful place. This proves how Jackie Robinson was a great citizen.

This is an example of stereotype and racism that Jackie Robinson had to deal with throughout, his career. The white kid is holding a basketball and he is with a black kid and, he is implying that blacks only play basketball and not baseball. This is an example of what Jackie Robinson had to deal with and he could not say anything back. This shows that because of his tolerance, it made him a great citizen.
