Presentation Preliminary (30 August to 3 September)  Teams are allocated 10 mins to present to a panel of judges:  5 mins presentation  2 mins video presentation  3 mins Q&A  Teams will then be picked to enter the presentation finals to vie for  The Best Mechanical Design Award  The Best Programming Award  The Best Research Award  The Best Video Award  The Best Presentation Award

Presentation Finals (Saturday, 4 September)  Each team will be given 10 mins to present to the panel of judges (5 mins presentation, 5 mins Q&A)  Teams will need to pitch their presentation towards the award for which they are being considered.

Challenge Week Preliminary (6 September to 9 September)  Teams will spend a full day (8am-6pm) at the competition venue  Each team will be assigned to a booth  Accomplish 2 Missions  Top 40 teams each from the Primary and Secondary Division and the top 20 teams from the Tertiary Division will proceed to the Grand Finals.

MISSION I P RIMARY D IVISION

The mission involves retrieving a ping pong ball and carrying it through to the finish zone. In the process the robot has to do the following:  Pass through obstacle A (15 pts)  Pass through S-curve (15 pts)  Go over the ramp (15 pts)  Pass through obstacle B (15 pts)  Reach finish zone with ping pong ball (40 pts) MISSION 1: Primary Division

 Run time is one and a half minutes  Carry is defined as the ping pong ball being lifted off the ground of the playing field  Only ONE restart  Time continues to run during the restart  All props will be returned to its original state  All previously accumulated scores are forfeited Things to note

M ISSION 2 Surprise Mission!!!   Announcement of Mission 2 details after lunch   2 hours to modify the robots   After two hours, robots will be quarantined   Mission 2 run 1 will proceed   After run 1, teams can take back their robot to modify   Get ready for run 2

 Registration for side events - 19 July 2010  Closing date - 20 August 2010  Each school is allowed a maximum of FOUR teams for each of the side events (max of 5 members per team )  Registration is on a first come first served basis  Registration can be done via to S IDE E VENTS R EGISTRATION

 Theme - Robots For Tourism  Open to following age group 1) Primary 3 to Secondary 2 2) Secondary 3 to ITE/JC/Poly (1 st yr and 2 nd yr)  Any material can be used for the construction of the robot  Size of robot must not exceed 1m wide X 1m long  Registration starts on 12 July 2010 and closes on 20 August 2010 O PEN CATEGORY

 From 19 July to 27 August  Monday to Friday (9-11am, 11am-1pm, 1-3pm and 3-5pm)  Max 4 hours per day, not more than 3 times per week, per school.  Booking can be done via to T RIAL PLAYING FIELD
