PRAYER SERMON SERIES: 1 The Lord’s Prayer: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name”.
Lord’s Prayer Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be your name. Your Kingdom Come, Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, deliver us from evil Yours is the kingdom, yours is the power And the glory forever, Amen.
Introduction “Jesus was a watchman. He drew His closest friends into that circle of prayer. They drew in many more, as believers were added to the church. That praying church turned the world’s culture on it’s ear”.Mahesh Chavda
What does prayer do? It begins to create the solution before the problem exists. It arrives on the scene, already intervening as the problem unfolds. It remains behind after the crisis is over to pick up the pieces and recreate what has been destroyed. It revitalises the wasted land and brings forth a seed bearing garden.
Our Father in Heaven. Knowing God as our Father is where we begin. It is the KEY to Christian prayer. Matthew 16: 13 – 18: “You are the Christ, the son of the living God”. When Jesus takes your hand in prayer, He leads you straight to His Father.
Hallowed be Your Name. Honoured be your name. We are asking that God might be known for who He is – a powerful request. We are praying in the will of God. We are praying for the revelation of Jesus Christ to come upon the earth.
Hallowed be Your Name: It is a prayer for harvest. It is a prayer for judgement. It is a prayer for the restoration of His glory. It is a prayer for God’s manifest presence among His people. It is a prayer for HOLINESS / PURITY. It is a prayer that the Father Himself be revealed.
IMPORTANT…… The more you honour God in your life, the smaller the giants you face will become… Can you get hold of that? Can you apply it to your life? It could be life-changing for you!
I Believe….. At the beginning of this New Year, God is calling us to Himself, to give us HIS perspective through prayer. And He will give us HIS vision for this church, through prayer – as we watch, and wait together. Which is why this season of prayer is so very important to us as a church.
Conclusion. From the place of deep fellowship in prayer, God calls to us “Who will go, who will stand?” And as our hearts respond to Him, surely we must answer, “Lord, I’ll go. For holy is your name!”
Act of Rededication. I want to love the Lord my God with all my heart, and with all my soul, and with all my mind, and I want to love my neighbor as myself. My purpose is to love God completely, love self correctly, and love others compassionately. I will seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness.
Act of Rededication. I will be a witness to those who do not know Him and participate in the Great Commission to go and make disciples. I want to glorify the Father by bearing much fruit, and so prove to be Christ’s disciple. AMEN
