We offer extended season Southeast Iowa field hunting. Extended Hunting Season September 1 st – March 31st Put and Take Supplemental: Pheasant Bob-White Quail Red Legged Chukar

Highly Developed Habitat Crooked Creek Shooting Preserve is located approximately 5 miles south of Washington, Iowa. This area of Iowa is well known for it’s fabulous Ring-Neck Pheasant, explosive Bobwhite Quail, and Trophy Deer native populations. Our hunting preserve is unique with our highly developed habitat. We raise our birds from one day old chicks. Our birds are strong flyers that will give you a quality native wild bird hunting experience.

1500 acres of CRP Grasslands and Food Plots We have acres of quality CRP grassland, wetlands and timberland. Cropland and food plots are intertwined with the CRP grasslands. This provides high quality habitat for the wildlife with varying degrees of challenge for the hunter. With the variety of habitat available, this allows us to offer hunting for pheasant, quail, chukar, trophy deer, wild turkey, small game, and migratory ducks and geese. One of our many food plots that hold your birds in our fields.

Enjoy our Stocked Ponds Come and enjoy fishing our stocked ponds or fish the waters of Crooked Creek. They are teeming with massive catfish, bluegill, crappie, and large-mouth bass. Maybe you would like to take a canoe trip down Crooked Creek. Bring your fishing pole and picnic basket for this beautiful 10 mile trip.

We Support Youth Hunters We support the new hunter or youth hunter in getting their first pheasant. No charge for hunters under the age of 17. We are a very family oriented Hunt Club. The environment at Crooked Creek Shooting Preserve is staffed with professional helpful friendly associates. Our goal is to make your hunting experience with us a memorable one.

Train your Dog Come and use our preserve to work your dogs. We have many professional dog trainers who use our preserve for their training needs. Lucia is a Flatcoated Retriever. She is owned and trained by Andy and Eileen Gevers of Paradise Retrievers in Dixon, IA.

Don’t Have a Dog? Use One of Ours! We have several guides on call at all times to service you. Our guides range from professional dog trainers and kennel owners, to professional hunters. All have excellent dogs, and are eager to help you have the best hunt you’ve ever had. Here are two very satisfied hunters with one of our guiding dogs, Bernie. Bernie is a German Shorthair Pointer

Hunt our Trophy Deer Our trophy deer hunts have yielded numerous trophy deer scoring 150+ point on the Boone and Crocket Scale. Iowa allows bow, shotgun and muzzleloader seasons. All deer hunts are during the state licensed season. All out-of-state hunters need to apply to the Iowa DNR for their license starting early May for the next deer season. Iowa is on a lottery draw for these hunters.

Wild Turkey Hunts Our wild turkey hunts are rich on our NE Iowa properties. These birds exceed weights of 20+ pounds with 8+ inch beards. All state season licenses apply.

Waterfowl Migratory Duck and Goose hunting is available during the state and federal season. We provide blinds or you can bring your own blind. We have several hundred ducks and geese that migrate to our various wetlands annually. We also raise several thousand Mallard ducks at our farm.
