Menu How Does Wind Energy Work? What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages? How Will This Benefit California? Menu

What Is Wind Energy? Wind energy is the energy absorbed from the power of wind. Wind turbines or wind mill absorb the energy The wind turns the propeller generating electricity

What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Disadvantages The strength of the wind is not constant and it varies from zero to storm force. This means that wind turbines turbines don't produce the same amount of electricity all the time. There will be times when they produce no electricity at all. Many people fell that the countryside should be left untouched, without these large structures being built. The landscape should be left in its natural form for everyone to enjoy.

Advantages The wind is free and with modern technology it can be captured efficiently Once the wind turbine is built, the energy it produces does not cause harmful green house gases or other pollutants Although wind turbines are very tall, each take up only a small plot of land. this means that the land below can still be used. This is still especially the case in agricultural areas as farming can continue

How Will Wind Energy Benefit California? California is very windy most of the time. I believe wind is the right way to go because there is always wind! There may not be high winds but there could be a breeze. Why wind over the others? Well here’s why: Fossil Fuels Solar Hydro Electric

Why Solar Energy is POO Millions of people use electricity NIGHT AND DAY. And guess what? With Solar, you can only absorb energy for half the day! From probably 6 am to 6 pm you can get electricity. Oh, What if its raining? Where’s the sun? And if we use solar energy, all the people at the night clubs might as well go home.

Why Hydro Electric Isn't That Green Does it look like we have a giant lake or river in San Diego? Didn’t think so. So hydro electric isn't the best choice. One it cost money. And two where will we put here in California? Right in the ocean? No! Plus it kills sea life.

Why Fossil Fuels are… Well TERRIBLE!!!!!!! Fossil fuels is for morons that don’t care about the environment. Green house gases feed on the ozone layer. It cause Global warming melting the arctic eventually going to flood our country. And it smells.
