 1. Do your very best work.  2. Use quiet, inside voice.  3. Share the mouse with your classmates, allowing everyone to have equal mouse time.  4. When you complete your work, find something quiet to do at the center or in your seat.  5. If we rotate centers, quietly walk straight to your next center and start your work.  6. If you have a question, ask everyone in your group before you ask the teacher.  7. Complete all assignment at each center before finding other activities.  8. If you get up to retrieve materials, be courteous of others and don’t disturb other groups.

 Copyright is a legal device that provides the creator of a work of art or literature, or a work that conveys information or ideas, the right to control how the work is used. Stephen Fishman, Esq. The Copyright Handbook,  A verbal presentation that is not recorded cannot be copyrighted.

 There are three fundamental requirements for something to be copyrighted:  Fixation: ◦ The item must be fixed in some way. The fixation may be just about anything.  Originality: ◦ The work must be original. Originality includes a novel or a student's message to a professor.  Minimal Creativity: ◦ The work must include something that is above and beyond the original. Verbatim use is not considered original.

 Fair use is the most significant limitation on the copyright holder's exclusive rights. Deciding whether the use of a work is fair IS NOT a science. There are no set guidelines that are universally accepted. Instead, the individual who wants to use a copyrighted work must weigh four factors:  The purpose and character of the use.  The nature of the copyrighted work.  The amount and substantiality of the portion used.  The effect of use on the potential market for the copyrighted work. 

 I have six students.  Monday: Joseph and Israel 9:00-9:15 a.m.  Tuesday: Raven and Aaron 10:00-10:15 a.m.  Wednesday: Emily and Mario 12:30-12:45 p.m.  Friday: Any students that didn’t get a chance to go to the computer will make up their computer time on Friday.
