How volorgs are using IT Study by Glasgow Caledonian University: n n 84% surveyed using networked computers n n 67% of these using external n n 53% have Web site n n 35% use to support remote home working n n 20% benefits on working practices … but only 1-7% producing innovations

The big question…. n n Is IT poor in producing innovation? n n Or are volorgs not getting IT … need to explore IT, possible internal and external benefits, problems, ways volorgs work, new opportunities….

The Internet in a few words n n Anything a computer can do - globally n n - one to one n n - many to many n n Web - lots of linked pages n n Audio, video n n Publishing, interacting

Wouldnt IT be great if… n n Information was there when needed n n Communication was simpler n n Collaborations clicked n n Visibility increased n n Communities extended, involved

... So wheres the innovation? New tools + Greater reach + New relationships +Fewer boundaries + Flatter structures = New ways of working Which lets people out of their boxes…..!
