Care and Prevention of Injuries Body Types Muscle Recruitment Red and White Fibers

Care and Prevention

Degrees of Injuries  1. Tears = separation of bellies/detached from bone, dislocation (out of joint tears surrounding muscle)  2. Sprain = awkward turn (joint) causing ligament damage, can become chronic  3. Pull = severe strain-some bleeding, swelling  4. Strain = overuse, bad form in exercise, sudden motion, overexertion  5. Bruise = breaking of blood vessels

R.I.C.E. RestIceCompressionElevation

Scar Tissue  Forms on many mended muscles that have been injured. It will hinder flexibility and movement if pampered!

Body Types I. Endomorph-soft,chubby II. Ectomorph-lean,skinny III. Mesomorph-muscular, shorter, stocky Can have a combo of all 3 Genetic, but can be changed to a point

Muscle Recruitment I.Amount of weight one can lift is determined by 3 factors: 1.How much fiber you are able to recruit 2.How strong and dense the fibers are 3.The efficiency of your technique II. Muscles get nutrients from food through oxidation Fueling muscle with proper fuel is essential for max performance

Red and White Fibers White Fast twitch-generally found in sprinters, tennis players, etc Red Slow twitch-line men, long distance, endurance (Red and White are hereditary)
