Objective of the project 2 The project has been initiated in order to: promote awareness of the history of the city of Buk following the archaeological discovery of an ancient water line in the local community paintain the heritage of the community through education on the use of the water cycle and climate change. The objective is going to be met by: setting up an exhibition where the excavated old pipeline will be presented along with other archeological findings creating the educational route with informative boards displayed next to main historical places of Buk having lectures at primary schools including the story of the old pipeline and transferring knowledge about water as a basic and valuable resource and the water-cycle and the recent climate changes The project team members consicts of representatives of local community and Wavin Poland staff.

Communication campaign about the project (example) 3 Communication campaign is done both by the city and WPO. Example - News posted on web page of City of Buk (05 NOV’13) Brief translation: The city and the water the shared story has just been launched.Mayor of Buk together with MD of WPO have just installed the first information board as a one of several point on the educational path that is going to guide around Buk’s place of historical interest. The project itself will get Buk’s citizens closer to the history of the town and the historical and present importance of the water. Many, other attraction will follow.)

Cooperation with volounteers (teachers from local schools) 5 In the course of we were cooperating with teachers who volunteered for the project. Grand opening of the exhibition (27March,2014) 6 “ The city and the water” exhibition has been opened on 27 th March 2014 in local library in Buk and will be available for the period on 1 year. The attendance was very high: local community, citizens, representatives of local authorities, church and WPO employees. The attendees had a chance to not only see the exhibits (wooden pipe line, iron sword or wooden well) but also listen to the very interesting lecture done by archaeologist who had coordinated the works in Buk and all investigations over the exhibits.
