The connections we see between his real life and his work.  One of his books,Wild Man Island, was written after he went on a kayaking trip. He found out about the location where he went kayaking from books that he read.  Another book, Leaving Protection, was inspired by the time when he worked as a deckhand on a boat where he cleaned and iced fish.

What Motivated him to Write? What Motivated him to Write? He was motivated to write, because he liked reading. He gets half of his ideas from books and half of his ideas from real life experiences. When he’s excited by a book he’s inspired to write a book and to go on an adventure.
