Goal of Matching Grant # The project aims to significantly enhance the learning and health conditions of this impoverished government high school for 400 (+) students up to grade 10.

Chimkola Facts u Population 1,456 (1991 Census) u Area 8,925 Hectares u Name: The forest was so dense that even in daylight the area was "Chim" (Dark) and as there was "Khola" river so people who came here started calling it Chimkhola.

Nepal Education Fund (Susan Marshall) The Nepal Education & Shelter Fund is a small privately run charity started in 2004

Nepal Education Fund Providing Underprivileged Nepali Children with an Education and Hope for the Future

Nepal Education Fund These children are from very poor families who cannot afford the yearly school fee nor the cost of school uniforms and the requisite school supplies.

Nepal Education Fund The Nepal Education Fund currently has over 140 children sponsored to go to school from caring families in Canada, England, US, Australia, and New Zealand.

Matching Grant # Description u Supply uniforms, textbooks, writing tools, school library, desks and other classroom equipment. u Equip a school science lab u Provide basic medical clinic - benefit a much wider community of 4 rural villages served by this school u Supply teaching aids and other materials for school staff u furnish a school office u Supply basic sports equipment for students. u Construct 5 new detached latrines in the school grounds, currently only 2 such latrines serving over 400 students. u It will also provide hookups (presently not in place) to the local village water supply for all school latrines.

Sustainability of Project u The project will serve to upgrade school infrastructure – one time expenditure. u Existing school staff will maintain the school equipment. u The school will provide the funding to staff and run the first aid/medical clinic.

Host Club Project Involvement –Manage all project expenditures & keep clear/accurate accounting –Visit the project on an as-needed basis –Regularly share project information updates with international partner (Duncan Daybreak) –Purchase & arrange onsite transportation of all items needed for project implementation –Arrange training for school medical clinic’s new health instructor –Maintain a committee of (min.) three Rotary club members to oversee project –Publicize project to local (Nepal) media and to Rotary District 3292

International Club Participation –Maintain a committee of (min.) three Rotary club members to liaise with host club managing/overseeing project –Send club members to visit project in Nepal during and/or soon after implementation –Publicize project to local (B.C./Canada) media and to District 5020 –Share individual club members’ expertise with host club partner where possible/appropriateMaintain regular/meaningful / other contact with host club during project
