PDRP Macclesfield ◦ The longest running PDRP was established between the Faculty and Macclesfield District General Hospital Nursing and Practice Development Unit in 2005 ◦ Now East Cheshire NHS Trust (ECNHST) the partnership aligns academics with practice staff in the ICU and HDU to work on practice development research. ◦ The aim of the work of both parties is to impact positively on the patient journey ◦ So far the team have written, researched and developed new practice and protocols in the areas of :- ◦ Developing critical appraisal tools ◦ Rest periods for patients ◦ Writing chapters in books ◦ Managing variance when guidelines conflict ◦ Accreditation of the Critical Care Skills course ◦ Central Venous Catheter good practice tools box ◦ Assessment of pain in people in coma’s ◦ PTSD experiences of ITU (future work with staff and patients)
