PROBLEM/SOLUTION PROPOSAL Prepared for: The Taylorsville High School Administration Prepared by: Shannon Napples, Kaylynn Harvey, Michelle Sudbury, Eric Llanes

CROWDED HALLWAYS The problem is our school hallways are too crowed.

DIFFERENT SOLUTIONS Expand Hallways Make it like the roadways Create new routes Reward between class periods

EXPAND HALLWAYS Take out the showcases and move them to upper J-hall Risks No showcases mean no attention to new events Negative public support This is not the ideal solution

HIGHWAY PLANS?

MAKE HALLWAYS LIKE ROADS A system of staying on the right side of the hall Would move " traffic" along at an even pace A more organized system Risk Negative reinforcement from students

ROUTES

ALTERNATE ROUTES Taking these routes to cut time Students aren't aware of such routes Commons, outside, and cutting through the cafeteria Risk Once students become aware, they may All use them at the same time Can cause congestion through these areas as well

REWARDS FOR RESULTS

REWARDING STUDENTS Rewarding students isn't anything new Getting to class swiftly This will make hallways less crowded faster End of day dash Risk Once part of routine, students might loss interest Teachers may not participate

WHICH IS BEST?

THE SURVEY SHOWS When students were surveyed, the results showed 47% thought the best solution was to make it like the roadways 33% take alternate routes 13% rewards for getting to class early 7% take out showcases The majority of the students believe that organization is key!

IN CONCLUSTION The hallways can be an unsafe place unless a change is made There are many solutions Only one that is reasonable It is up to us all to make the change
