Department Of Human Services Workforce Division Welcome!

Is a Wage Reimbursement Program! Reimburses part of the wages for new qualifying hires.

The program provides work opportunities to low-income San Franciscans Offers employers a wage reimbursement for qualifying new hires.

JobsNOW has 2 components to choose from Wage Subsidy for hourly wages under $13.49 an hour Wage Subsidy for hourly wages of $13.50 and up to $35.00.

Wage Subsidy paying hourly wage of $13.50 to $35.00 with a minimum of 25 hours per week Gives the employer: 100% of wages covered for 1st month, 75% of wages covered for 2nd month $1000 reimbursement for months 3, 4 and 5 months

Wage subsidy with hourly wage under $13.49 for a minimum of 25 hours per week $5,000 of wage reimbursement ($1000 a month) the subsidy will be paid in $1,000, one-month increments. That is, for the first five months of a new hire, the employer will receive a $1,000 wage reimbursement each month.

Invoice Employer submits monthly invoice along with a payroll ledger or pay stubs Invoice turnaround time is about two weeks.

Who can apply for Wage Subsidy? Employers who have permanent jobs and offer a minimum of 25 hrs. per week Willing to pay San Francisco minimum wage of $10.74 Has worker’s compensation insurance or able to obtain one Able to demonstrate fiscal capacity in having the ability to retain employees once the subsidy ends

Who can apply for ITIP? (Individual Internship Training Program) Non-profit organizations Able to demonstrate fiscal capacity Ability to provide a supervised work experience for participants with minimal or no work experience with a minimum of 32 hrs. per week

What are the benefits? Complimentary services includes: Advertising the job opening Tax Credit Information Recruitment Activities Interviewing Facilities Labor Market Research Pre-Screening of Applicants Skills Testing On-the-Job Training

What do we offer? How to apply? Submit an employer application packet which consits of a JobsNOW application, Form W9 and Certificate of Liability for worker compensation. Application must be approved, prior to starting any employee under this program.
