“And them that had escaped from the sword [Nebuchadnezzar] carried away to Babylon, where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia: to fulfill the Word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her Sabbaths, for as long as she lay desolate she kept Sabbath, to fulfill seventy-years.” 2 Chronicles 36:21

The seventy year long exile in Babylon was the direct result of the failure of the Jews to observe the Sabbatical year. They were in exile one year for each Sabbatical year missed! That represents a total of 490 years!

“Now these are the words of a LETTER that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem unto the elders who were carried away captives, and to the priests, and to the prophets, and to all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon.” Jeremiah 29:1

“For thus saith the LORD, that after seventy-years be accomplished at Babylon, I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.” Jeremiah 29:10

-- Daniel was made a hostage in 605 B.C. at about age Nebuchadnezzar did not destroy Jerusalem until 587 B.C. -- Daniel had already lived in Babylon 18 years -- Daniel would have been 31 years of age.

O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love Him, and keep His commandments: we have sinned, and have committed iniquity…

O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for Thine own sake, O my God, FOR THY CITY and THY PEOPLE are called by Thy name.

“Seventy ‘Weeks’ are determined upon THY PEOPLE and THY HOLY CITY…

The word “WEEKS” here is a translation of the Hebrew word SHIVI’IM SABBATICAL YEARS! Or seven-year periods! God had marked off seventy more Sabbatical years for the history of Israel.

The Messiah would accomplish SEVEN THINGS: 1.To finish transgression 2.To make an end of sins 3.To make reconciliation for iniquity 4.To bring in everlasting righteousness 5.To seal up vision 6.And prophecy 7.To anoint the Most Holy Daniel 9:24

Upon the PeopleUpon the City 69 Weeks till MESSIAH the Prince The street shall be built,… and the wall the Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself. And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city He shall confirm the COVENANT with many for one week… And for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate… In the midst of the week He shall cause sacrifice… to cease. Even until the consummation…

“…We have been made holy by the offering of the Body of Jesus Christ ONCE FOR ALL.” Hebrews 10:10

“For by one offering He has perfected FOREVER those who have been made holy.” Hebrews 10:14

“Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yea rather, who is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.” Romans 8:34

I watched till thrones were put in place, and the Ancient of Days was seated.

His garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head was like pure wool.

His throne was a fiery flame, its wheels a burning fire. A fiery stream issued and

came forth from before Him. A thous- and thousands minis- tered to Him.

Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court was seated,

And the books were opened…. As I was watching… behold,

One like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient

of Days, and they brought Him near be- fore Him. Then to Him was given dominion

And glory and a king- dom, that all peoples, nations, and lan- guages should serve

Him. His dominion is an everlasting do- minion which shall never pass away,

And His kingdom the one which shall never be destroyed.

…The Ancient of Days came, and judgment was made in FAVOR of the saints….

Then the whole king- dom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under

whole heaven, shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High,

His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him.

Crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore, you are no longer slaves, but sons, Galatians 4:4-7
