The good, the bad and the ugly Just like our families Rape, incest and violence Kings, priests and prophets Peace and war Times of obedience and times of faithlessness

Putting it all together We belong… To God’s family To a holy land; to a great heritage To a historical culture of kings and priests and prophets To a people who are sinful and crooked

Putting it all together We have a beginning with creation and with God We belong to God No matter where we are, we belong

Putting it all together We belong to a family greater than ourselves We belong to a greater church family As New Testament people we belong to Christ through the blood One day we will be welcomed in the Promised Land

The Old and New Testament address it differently But the assumptions are the same You are my chosen people You were bought at a price

1 Corinthians 6 You are not your own 19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price…

1 Corinthians 7 23 You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.
