The Nine Planets of Our Solar System Soniya Judhani 3 rd Grade Science Class

Questions What are the nine planets in our Solar System? Which planets are in the inner solar system, and which planets are in the outer solar system? What is one interesting fact about each planet?

Activities Students will draw their own Solar System with the nine planets. Students will search the Internet for facts about each planet. Students will get to go outside, and locate the sun, and make assumptions about where the planets are. Students will get to go on a field trip to a museum to further their knowledge about our Universe. Students will also learn the current happenings of the nine planets and our Solar System

TEKS (b) Knowledge and skills. (11) Science concepts. The student knows that the natural world includes earth materials and objects in the sky. The student is expected to: (C) identify the planets in our solar system and their position in relation to the Sun; and (D) describe the characteristics of the Sun.
