Ms. Clark’s 3 rd Grade Class!

 Light from the sun reaches earth in about 8 minutes.  The suns core is about degrees Celsius!  Because of the suns huge influence on earth, many cultures believed the sun to be some kind of god.  A solar eclipse occurs when the moon is between the sun and earth.

 There are 8 planets in our solar system.  For thousands of years people didn’t know about the solar system and they though the earth was the center of the world.  Now we know that the sun is the center of our solar system.  Check out how much You would weigh on each of the planets by going to this site.this site.

 Our moon that you see in the sky is only the 5 th biggest moon in our solar system. That means there are 4 other larger moons!  Mons Hyugen is the largest mountain on the moon, it is about half the size of mount Everest!  The first person to set foot on the moon was Neil Armstrong.
