Chapter 11 Vital Statistics Data/Rates Morbidity prevalence Number of existing causes of a disease in a given population Morbidity Incidence Frequency or extent of new cases of a disease for a given period of time Crude rates Include the entire or larger population Specific rates Include a specific factor of the group such as age, race, gender Adjusted/standardized rates Used for comparison purposes between two or more groups with different variables School of Health Science
