Our assignment… National level – Human trafficking for sexual purposes. Regional level – The Internet and human trafficking for sexual purposes. Local level – Sexual services on the streets and on the Internet.

Mobility within sexual services In Sweden there is no national organisation for working with prostitution and sexual services. Kompetencenter Prostitution and the other prostitutiongroups in Sweden work mostly at a local or/and regional level. This makes it difficult with a perspective from a mobility point of view and limits us in some ways in working with mobility. We believe that our largest mobility is towards Copenhagen and we would like to increase our cooperation with our colleagues in Copenhagen so that we can reach more individuals in need of help.

How does the mobility effect our work? The Internet makes our working area a lot larger today compared to the streets. We have developed a structured workingplan for the outreach-work on the Internet. This makes it more possible to reach our target- groups in a larger area.

National level – Human trafficking for sexual purpose Working with human trafficking differ at some points from working with other areas within sexual services. There is a larger movement since the victims are moved both between the countries and within Sweden. This has made it necessary to work at a national level. At a national level we’ve got the organisation NMT – a centre with different relevant actors within governmental organisations, as police, prosecutors office, migration office and so on. We have developed a national tool that makes it possible to see if one person has been moved within the borders of Sweden.

Mobility – KAST Malmoe For the demand part of prostitution we meet, mobility is not an issue they address. Most of the clients we’ve met have a clear opinon when they buy sexual services from somebody. They never buy services from somebody who they believe is a victims of trafficking.

Our scene… The streets Prostitution on the streets looks different compared to our other cities in Sweden. - The area is larger - Mostly Swedish origin - The majority has a drug abuse - Fewer women on the streets (29 between the age of years old) - Even if the number of persons selling sex on the streets are decreasing, there are still coming new woman continuously.

Our scene… The Internet We think the scene looks about the same in all regions within Sweden. This year until today we have seen 152 new persons that have an ad on the Internet. All persons have got an outreach mail and then continuously a newsletter from us. We meet men and women and even couples that sell sexual services on the Internet. Mostly individuals that are younger. In October we will start a chatt-room for people that has questions or need for any kind of support around sexual services in different forms. This will help us to reach more people within at least the southern part of Sweden.

Our scene… Human trafficking for sexual purposes This year we have met 9 persons that have been victims of human trafficking for sexual purposes. Yet we have not been able to get in contact with everyone and we think there are a number of victims that we never meet. We believe that a lot of the target group that comes to southern Sweden are used in Copenhagen. It’s difficult for the social services to have good routines when working with trafficking. That is why Kompetenscenter Prostitution have made a manual with concrete directions and tips about who is responsible for what, what is needed and what is important to think about. The manual is a complement to the national guidelines for working with Human trafficking.

Our scene and target groups for KAST Malmoe Continous inflow of clients since In 2010 we had 71 persons in councelling. 13 of them ended the councelling after recieveng the help and support they wanted. At the moment we have 48 persons in councelling. Councelling through telephone, and appointments. No outreach work. The clients do the first contact by searching on the internet or sometimes recommended through a therapist or social services. Most of the clients we meet have a destructive approach to their sexuality. Compulsory behaviour like pronography addiction, calling telephone sexlines, visiting stripclubs, videosexchatting or buying other forms of sexual services. Relatives are a new target group. Lectures and councelling

How do we know that we are on the right track? 2 researches with focus on our clients. We expect the results in the beginning of One national research on Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmoe - One local research within our own organisation Further more we regular evaluate all of our work with our targetgroups so that we know if we are doing the right things or not.

More than counselling Education packages - Social welfare services - School - Healthcare - And other organisations

Who do we reach and dont reach? We reach a lot of men and woman on the streets and that advertises on the Internet. The target group we still don’t reach is men selling sexual services to men. They don’t advertise on ad-sites and we don´t meet them on the streets. This has made it more difficult for us to reach this target group. This fall we hope that we will reach out to thís target group as well. We’ve got a lot of useful information from TFSL´s report, Osynliga aktörer. Further more we’re planning more cooperation with RFSL in Malmoe in form of working with practical methods as our ”Secure guide” and a joint lecture day in November about men selling and buying sex to men and preventing problems that can occur.

Who do we reach and dont reach? Regarding Human trafficking for sexual purposes we are constantly working with the issue of reaching individuals that are victims of human trafficking. We work a lot with outreach work in the streets and on the Internet. But it’s not very often that we meet victims of human trafficking on the streets. And on the Internet the problem is that it’s not always them selves that put in the ad and we can never be sure if we reach the right person. That is why we are planning to use an international/national form of information-campaign this fall that has been used in Stockholm, Norbotten and in its own version in Gothenburg. This campaign is about information to individuals that arrives to Sweden, like having the right to not being sold or used. The informations are in is in 6 different languages and with a phone number to call free of charge and non traceable. The campaign is called “Safe trip”.

Who do KAST meet and how do they find us? We meet men and women between the ages of 18 to around 70. We have both men and women in councelling dealing with destructive approach to their sexuality. Most of them are men. We have relatives coming to us dealing with a familymember whos actions also becomes a problem to them. It is parents, sibblings, daughters, sons and partners.

How do they find KAST? Word of mouth through forums on the internet and other organisations such as SLAA. Through googlesearch We have a good relation to the press. We keep ourselves updated with issues in the region. We offer lectures
