After the Flood “Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.”  God appeared to both Abram and Cornelius.  They were both given instructions requiring a decision, action and travel.  Both needed to leave behind their nativity.  Both became associated with “the Name” (Shem – Melchizedek and Christ).  Cornelius and his house (Japheth) received the blessing of ‘dwelling in the tents of Shem’.
