Acadiana Sports Summer Baseball Training, Teams and Schedules

What to expect? Acadiana Sports is a division of the Global Scouting Bureau, which since 1998 has been assisting athletes into College and Professional Opportunities. From local guys such as Boomer Blanchard, Justin Robichaux, Ryan Broussard, Peter Wiggins, Shane Youman, Phil Devey to over 2,500 players globally have been assisted by GSB. In 2011 GSB formed Acadiana Sports to assist local baseball players. In August 2011, Acadiana Sports hosted the USA Baseball NTIS series, selecting more than 40 players from the state of Louisiana to compete at no charge in hopes of making Team USA. In addition, several summer programs participated in events hosted by GSB and Acadiana Sports. After seeing the landscape for a year, GSB felt changes were needed. Too much money was being spent by families for simply playing baseball. After 7 months of networking and working with local and regional teams (including many High School coaches), GSB will introduce the TRAIN TO PLAY model of summer baseball. Some teams such as the well known Louisiana Legends have come on board and lower their prices, while implementing the TRAIN TO PLAY model. So….expect heavy emphasis on training (physical as well as mental). Competitive games run by quality coaches with backgrounds at the college and professional level. And to your surprise, it wont costs you $2,000 or even $1,500. Not even $1,000.

TRAIN TO PLAY MODEL Beginning in May, baseball players will start their training sessions at Acadian. Players from the Louisiana Legends, Acadiana Sports, International athletes and more will have the opportunity to train like college and professional athletes. Instructors have Professional and College backgrounds and all training sessions will be under the direction of James Gamble (14 + years as Professional Scout). Players will train for the specific positions, have several showcase training days (so players know how to showcase) as well as work on the mental side of training (baseball IQ). Teams will also train together, whereas individual athletes learn how to work together and play together. Teams will all have same training, then based on ability and projectability…………split up and play on the various teams. Regardless of what team……….GSB and Acadiana Sports has worked to provide more while charging less! In the next pages, you will see the results!

TEAMS & SCHEDULES There will be several teams of players involved with the TRAIN TO PLAY model. No player will pay more than $600 for their TEAM FEE (including all the training sessions). That is SUBSTANTIALLY LOWER THAN ANY OTHER PROGRAMS AND NONE OFFER THE TRAIN TO PLAY MODEL! All Teams will have Local and Regional Schedules ranging from playing at UL Lafayette, Southeastern, UL Monroe, Texas Events as well as LSUE. These games and events are targeting local and regional exposure! Some teams* will attend National Events in Atlanta, Orlando, etc. * National Events are events targeting athletes that project to play at a certain level. As training is mandatory for all players (certain amount of training days per week), training + playing is where assessments are done on projectability.

Louisiana Legends In order to have teams that suit the needs of each player, there will be some players selected to be a Legend, whereas other players will be on Acadiana Sports teams. Regardless of the team, price will be $600 (which includes all the training). For those parents and individuals that THINK that the name on the front of the uniform, or the price they pay = success for their child…………….I have some land to sell you! TRAIN, TRAIN, AND THEN PLAY, THEN TRAIN SOME MORE. THERE IS NO SHORT CUTS TO SUCCESS! As this is NOT High School or College Baseball, the FOCUS is on the name on the back of the jersey, not the front! Our goal is to make YOU the athlete better….which in turn will help YOU the athlete help your team next year!

Game Locations Nichols State University – Thibodeaux, LA LSU Eunice – Eunice, LA UL Monroe – Monroe, LA UL Lafayette – Lafayette, LA Houston Texas Acadian (New Iberia) Southeastern Louisiana – Hammond, LA *Atlanta Braves Spring Training (Disney) – Orlando, FL *Perfect Game World Wood Bat – Atlanta, GA *University of West Florida – Pensacola, FL * = Not ALL Teams attend these events!
