Shakti Samuha, Nepal Safehouse and reintegration centre $HKD Grants To Date0 Grant ,000 (Shortfall in Shakti Budget) Requested Budget of USD12,188: This amount would be spent as follows*:  Programme costs (e.g. food cost/ medical/ activities self expression/ vocational training/ school support etc: 48.17%  Advocacy and networking: 1.29%  Salaries (e.g. project coordinator, project officer, parasocial worker): 28.75%  Capital cost (e.g. kitchen equipment etc): 1.29%  Support costs (e.g. rent, stationary, central office support) 20.49% % Based on Shakti's overall budget summary of approx USD42,000 per annum.

RECOVERY & REINTEGRATION A new start for girl victims of child sexual abuse and exploitation Shakti Samuha Pokhara, Nepal

Shakti Samuha Protection Recovery Reintegration Two criteria for support at Shakti Samuha : 1. Under 18 years age 2. Victim of sexual abuse or sexual exploitation / at imminent risk Girls who fit these criteria can be immediately taken into the protection of the emergency shelter. To date not one girl has been turned away.

Services Protection/Emergency Shelter Counseling and legal support Social skills, life skills and awareness Family Reintegration Training, employment and independent living support Referrals to long-term residential support (as a last resort when family or independent reintegration not possible)

Snapshot of Achievements Supported > 500 trafficking survivors Trafficking prevention activities have reached est. 10,000 women and girls Set up the 1 st ever shelter home run by- and for trafficking survivors in South Asia (currently operate 3 shelters) President Shakti Samuha, Ms. Chari Maya Tamang was presented 'Hero acting to end modern day slavery award' (US State Dept'11)
