 Every child has the opportunity to SUCCEED  Receive D or F on assignment, may correct and receive the average score, no greater than 70%  Student’s responsibility to redo the assignment and return within 2 days  Redo option is not available on quizzes, tests, or projects

 Report cards will be sent home three times  1 st Trimester – November 21, 2014  2 nd Trimester – March 6, 2014  3 rd Trimester – Last Day of School Parents and students may monitor grades at home by accessing Skyward.

 Homework is for reinforcement and practice of skills we are covering in the classroom  On average, approximately 45 minutes of homework a night  “No Homework” days strongly encourage reading and reviewing math facts  Missing or late assignments will have “late assignment slip” sent home for parent signature

 Homework assignments will be written in the student’s “assignment journal”  Review the assignments with your child each evening and sign  May check 5DS web page  Means of communication – write down any questions or comments

Due to the number of food allergies among our student population, Northpoint has adopted the policy – No birthday treats in the classroom.

We are buddies with Miss Shay’s first grade class. We will be meeting periodically throughout the year.

Each school day will consist of a four hour morning. Our lunch hour is 12:35 – 1:25. Your child needs to bring a healthy snack to enjoy during snack time. Popcorn, fruit, vegetables, and cheese sticks are excellent choices. Our classroom is a “NUT FREE” classroom.
