9/3/20151 Motor City Wrestling Club General Information & Parent Orientation General Information & Parent Orientation “Fueled by Sweat, Driven by Desire"

"Fueled by Sweat, Driven by Desire" 9/3/20152 Overview We are affiliated with the Chippewa Valley School District. We are in the Michigan Youth Wrestling Association (MYWA) and wrestle in the Metro Region Websites/ –Motor City: – –MYWA: –Metro: We offer a structured training environment for athletes from age five to high school.

"Fueled by Sweat, Driven by Desire" 9/3/20153 Team Information Head Coach: Earl Schutt Associate Coach: John Jeffire Assistant Coaches: Roel Manauis, Ed Szajna, Yonno Ciaramitaro Team Philosophy: “Have fun, do my best, and walk on and off the mat like a champion no matter what happens.” How we as the parents handle a win or loss is crucial in your wrestler’s attitude and development. The important part about this and every other sport is the effort put forth. Competition and proficiency will come.

"Fueled by Sweat, Driven by Desire" 9/3/20154 Practices Tuesday and Thursday nights. Here in the CVHS Wrestling Room. 1 st session “Red” 6:00pm to 7:00pm –Beginner and Intermediate wrestlers 2 nd Session “White” 7:00pm to 8:30pm –Advanced and Elite wrestlers Practices promptly begin at their start times. We ask that wrestlers are ready well before the 6:00pm or 7:00pm start times. We strongly believe in positive reinforcement to attain one’s goal. This is a learning process for many. Please ask questions when you have them.

"Fueled by Sweat, Driven by Desire" 9/3/20155 Practices are structured. During the RED session, we will teach fundamentals and core moves. During the WHITE session, the pace will be faster and advanced moves will be taught. Both sessions will conduct drills, situational wrestling, live wrestling, & calisthenics to get your child in wrestling shape. Parent participation is strongly encouraged. This allows joint learning & the ability to provide positive reinforcement of moves at home. We were informed by the high school to refrain from blocking the main hallway. We will show you where your wrestler can change. Practices

"Fueled by Sweat, Driven by Desire" 9/3/20156 The team is large while the coaching staff not. During practices, if you are staying to watch, we kindly ask to keep conversations to a minimum so that we can maximize the limited time for instruction. We understand that many times, siblings are brought to practice as some families have no other option available to them. We kindly ask limiting your other children from the wrestling room and especially the wrestling mat to prevent injuries & distractions during practice. Practices
