Melissa Public Library Standard Hours Monday: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday: 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday: CLOSED Story Time: Fridays at 10:15 a.m.

The Melissa Library Teen Advisory Council Meeting on Monday, October 25 th at 12:00 p.m. The first 10 teenagers get Pizza! Must stay 1 hour and help!  Are you between the ages of 12-19?  Do you have an interest in science fiction writing or helping to develop other programs and activities for teens?  If so, the Melissa Library is looking to start a Library Teen Advisory Council and would love to hear from you!  You can have a voice and space in the library! Need Help Disposing of Large Trash Items? IESI will collect bulk waste on the second Saturday of each month. The next pickup day is: January 8th Call (469) or for details and to schedule a pick up. Bulk items can include furniture, appliances (refrigerators must have certificate verifying that all Freon has been removed), extra trash and yard waste. Overall size must not exceed 5 cubic yards of debris per month and tree limbs & brush must be cut to 5 foot lengths and bundled.

Collin County Cleanup Day On the first Saturday of every month Collin County in partnership with the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) hosts its “Collin County Cleanup Day” and from 8AM to 2PM. Residents must show proof of residency in Collin County and all loads must be covered. Collin County residents can drop off the following at the NTMWD landfill on Hwy 121 in Melissa at no charge: –Furniture –Appliances –Tires (max. of 4) –Boards, trees and tree limbs not exceeding 8 feet in length –Motor oil –Oil filters –General debris Items not accepted are: –Chemicals –Paints –All batteries –Antifreeze The next Collin County Cleanup Day is Saturday, January 8 th (January 1 st is a holiday)

To decrease the risk of getting sick this flu season: –Wash your hands! –Wash your hands! Over 20 infectious agents, including the flu, can be avoided by properly washing your hands. –Avoid close contact with those that are sick. –Stay at home –Stay at home when you are sick to avoid spreading infection to others. –Cover your mouth and nose –Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue.
