About Sugathi Sugathi stands for welfare or a happy conditionor bliss in Sanskrit. Sugathi is a non-profit organization started by a group of like minded people, cutting across the professions to work for social development through child education.

About Sugathi contd.. We at Sugathi believe that, every child gets the real happiness through learning new things. Every child with a strong foundation in education at school level, would be shaped into an enlightened citizen of India.

What we do Volunteering Volunteering Volunteer and share our knowledge with the children in Government schools, orphanages and schools run by NGOs to make a meaningful impact. Teach them subjects prescribed in the syllabi in a way different from the regular classroom teaching.

What we do contd.. Conduct games, painting, singing, quiz competitions etc to sharpen and bring out the creativity of the kids. Organize workshops on varied topics, science fairs.

What we are doing contd.. We teach English and Mathematics at Jeevanahalli and NS Palya schools on every Saturday for a duration of 2-3 hours. Periodical extra curricular activities at all the institutes, including the above mentioned schools. Tied up with GE Medical Systems – Vijaya Karnataka to distribute newspapers at Government schools. This project aims at encouraging newspaper reading among school children.

What we are doing contd.. Participated in “ Dakalaiti Aandolane ”, admission drive conducted by Karnataka Goverment schools in the slum areas surrounding the respective schools. Interacting with parents during the parent-teacher meetings in Government schools. Counseling the parents on various aspects of child development.

What we are planning To spread our weekly voluntary activities to all the institutes we are associated with. To expand our activities to schools in rural areas. To start working with the street children, children of roadside vendors in urban areas.
