About half of Brunei’s income comes from exporting oil and natural gas.

The Philippines spent more than 300 years as a Spanish colony.

Myanmar’s government is ruled by the military who have turned it into a socialist country.

Malaysia is one of the world’s leaders in exporting rubber and palm oil.

Singapore is a small island nation with a high standard of living.

Most people in Indonesia are Muslim.

Thailand, located in Southeast Asia, was never a colony of another country.

Japan imports more fish than any other nation.

North Korea and China are separated by the Yalu River.

Farmland in Japan is limited because of mountains.

Japan experiences many earthquakes because it lies on the Ring of Fire.

Japan has a constitutional monarchy.

Japan imports raw materials and exports manufactured goods.

The North Korean government owns and runs factories and farms.

The Korean Peninsula juts out from northern China between the Sea of Japan and the Yellow Sea.

Laos and Vietnam both have communist governments.
