Order, Order There is a definite order to all things in our universe. Everything has a proper way to function, an order by which it works and relates with other things. Sometimes we don’t understand completely why something functions a certain why, and part of the function of scientists is to find why a thing does what it does, and how that relates to other things in nature. Ie. When I was a child, science had determined that we had vestigial organs, those with no function. After careful study, they have found that due to removing those organs, they did serve a function, and our bodies did use and need those organs to function properly. We see all things in the universe serve a particular purpose, though we may see it as being a trivial one. Many times we just take them for granted, and never consider they function a certain way because an intelligent Creator designed the order of all things, and their function.
Science Proves Order While the Bible explains the beginning of all things and who are responsible, science has proven that there is an order to all things in the universe, and the diverse affects of the absence of things which God had designed, as given in our illustration. Science has also determined that the order of the Creation of the Genesis account must be upheld. To move the order of one aspect of the creation’s order, would insurmountably destroy the world as we know it. Science has proven also, that the wisdom and knowledge of men, cannot explain life as we know it, and how life enters this body of flesh, which came from dust and returns to dust when life here is over. It does accept there is a cycle to life and all things in the universe. David once said, “1 ¶ The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. 2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. 3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. 4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, 5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. 6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.”Ps. 19:1-6

David illustrated that there is no place on earth that you cannot see the order of all things, even to the orbit of the sun, and its relationship to the rest of the cosmos.
Philosophers Search the Order They look at this order of the universe, and realize that with such detailed order, in every aspect of the creation, there must be more involved, that just a Creator creating all things to such perfection with no reason for doing so. Would such a God/Creator put such order in place, and not have a purpose, or leave that purpose to be developed by the created itself? And why man, a creature uniquely set in this orderly universe, with the ability to think, reason, study, and learn of this universe. The ability to take notice of the universe and ask, “Why am I here?”. Would such a Creator not give man his purpose, and that not be according to the Creator’s purpose? “But one hath somewhere testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? Or the son of man, that thou visitest him?” Heb. 2:6 This expressed the search for our purpose. A careful search for the answer reveals that God has spoken as the Creator, and does have a purpose for man. Eccl. 12:13,14 13 ¶ Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
God’s Answer In Jer.10:23, the prophet said that man cannot nor is left with developing his purpose for his life. 23 O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps. We can find out God’s purpose in His creation of the universe and man in particular. We must simply seek for the answers He has given. The Son of God, while living here on earth as a man, made this comment, Jn. 5:30 30 I can of myself do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is righteous; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. We are here to do the Creator’s will. We must search the scripture to determine the content of His will. Return now to Ps. 19:7-14

Return now to Ps. 19: ¶ The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. 12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. 13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. 14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Out of Order Science has determined that much of the world’s disarray is due to the shift of the various balances of nature. (It has also shown that left to its own repair, many of these will correct themselves, and return to order, if left alone.) Man has been responsible for all the disorder. Due to sin, the perfect order of the universe was sent into disarray. Life was changed to death. Famine, flooding, earthquakes, etc. was introduced into the world. Science has shown that with every action, there is an opposite and equal reaction. Again, the balance of the universe. Destruction comes when things are out of balance. The most serious area of disarray is that of man’s existence.
Man’s Disarray Man no longer lives in the order that God created for him. He was driven from the garden. Gen. 3. A division between men developed, between those that continued faith/obedience to God, to return to the order man was created to live in, and those who chose to develop their own paths in opposition to obedience to God. Gen. 6:5-8* speaks of the contrast between Noah and his family and the rest of mankind. The flood brought judgment upon man to remove the filth of mankind from the earth. But the knowledge of sin existed and man soon returned to his own directions. Disorder continued. Those who listened to God and obeyed received God’s blessings, and those who didn’t perished. Gen. 5:24-27* There is order to man’s life when following God’s will. Ps. 119* It is up to man to return to the order of life that God designed for all mankind. Those who do will be blessed. We are not meant to live a life of disarray. Heb. 11:6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Conclusion God is the great designer and designed order for all things. The universe displays that order in all things where man has not brought disarray. Man continues to abuse God’s order of things. Man, himself, is the object of disarray, having left his order in God’s design. God simply asks for our obedience to His voice/will. Will you listen and obey, returning to your proper place in His order? Jesus demonstrated man’s return to the order. We can take our place in the family of God, by being Christ’s, hearing God and doing His will. Will you be part of the fix, or part of the problem? Return to God’s word, obey it, and apply the fix.
