The expected Messiah is God. (Mark 12:35-37) While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, he asked, "How is it that the teachers of the law say that the Christ (Messiah) is the son of David? {36} David himself, speaking by the Holy Spirit, declared: "'The Lord (God the Father)said to my Lord (David’s “Lord” = Messiah): "Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet."' {37} David himself calls him 'Lord.' How then can he be his son?" The large crowd listened to him with delight.
Why Christ hasn’t judged yet (2 Peter 3:3-4) …scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. {4} They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? (2 Peter 3:9) The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
Christ waits, but all will bow (Philippians 2:9-11) Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, {10} that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, {11} and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Seated, because work is done (Hebrews 1:3) …After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. (Hebrews 10:12-13) …But when this priest [Jesus] had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God. {13} Since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool.
Realizing Jesus is enthroned… Assured – When feeling condemned (Romans 8:34) Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died--more than that, who was raised to life--is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Refocused – When distracted by earthly things (Colossians 3:1-2) Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. {2} Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Encouraged – When tempted to quit following Christ (Hebrews 12:1-2) …let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. {2} Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Christ returns as King to Jerusalem (Zechariah 8:3) This is what the LORD says: "I will return to Zion and dwell in Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the LORD Almighty will be called the Holy Mountain." (Zechariah 14:2-4) I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it… {3} Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights in the day of battle. {4} On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south. Mount of Olives

Jesus is Priest, as well as King (Genesis 14:18) Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, (Hebrews 6:19-20) We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, {20} where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.
Christ’s return to Judge as King (Revelation 19:11-16) I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. {12} His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. {13} He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God… {15}"He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. {16} On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. (Revelation 11:15) The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever."
