International Program Theme

“We serve” the members, communities & the world

DG’s Vision/Mission 我 們 服 務 共 創 新 猷

The theme is our motto “WE SERVE” for this year. Our motto is rooted in everything we do and stand for. It is the perfect expression of why people becomes Lions Club members. It inspires each Lion to take PRIDE in Club membership and motivates each Club to perform work of charity and compassions freely and willingly. Service is the rent we pay for the space we occupy.

It is so coincident that my vision and mission are very close to the International President. Today’s training is not a two-day training. It is a year round training. Those lectures are ready to help Lions with any queries. Just in case, we are unable to answer. But be patient, we shall come back to you after consultation to International Association.

The Vision from International President (1)Grassroots movement. We, ordinary people, extraordinary work at our own initiative to influence the world around us. Lions Clubs are fundamentally grassroots movement of similar service-minded people sharing a common interest. We Lions take Pride in being the world’s largest organization of its kind.

(2) We serve primarily through local Clubs which are vital essence of our association. Each Club is a fundamental component in our global alliance to serve. (3) Today, Lions increasingly comprise diverse groups of service-minded men and women who focus on the results and effective use of time and resource. (4) The job as DG is to serve you Lions as a motivator to help the Club in the District to be more successful in what they do.

The Mission to implement We Serve : By supporting our Members and Clubs. As leaders, we should never forget that our members are our customers and not our employees. Let’s serve them!

We Serve : Through Club renewal and development. Three steps each Club should identify: (1) Highly successful activities/ practices that should be continued and expanded.

(2) Less successful activities/ practices that should be changed and improved. (3) Unsuccessful activities/ practices that should be replaced by something brand new.

Every Club’s renewal must be a positive process, to build up and not tear down as our code of Ethics. Get every member involved in an open and constructive discussion.

If there is a renewal with your renovations, report your plan on the Club Renewal Plan (available at

Each Club completing the report will receive from the IP a special token of congratulations and appreciation to welcome the Club as part of the new Lions Clubs International.

We Serve : By organizing New Clubs and Building Membership. The formation of new Clubs is essential to the Lions Mission as it brings to the organization new groups of talented leaders with fresh energy and innovative approaches to community services.

「 The only reason for Lions Clubs to exist is to serve 」 「 The only reason to start new Lions Clubs is to provide services where they are needed 」

We Serve : By developing Leaders If Clubs are the foundation of Lions Clubs International, Leadership training is a means by which to fortify that foundation.

Each Club completing the report will receive from the IP a special token of congratulations and appreciation to welcome the Club as part of the new Lions Clubs International.

Active leadership development positively influences membership growth as strong Clubs with quality leadership, clear direction and a relevant focus will attract and retain more members.

「 Lions Learning Centre 」 offers all Lions a cost-effective way to sharpen their knowledge of Lions Clubs International fundamentals and enhance their leadership skill through interactive online courses.

We Serve : By working together for a better world. Our Leo Club program originated in 1957 has given hundreds of thousands of young people throughout the world an opportunity to mature as leaders while learning the value of service.

Sponsoring a Leo Club may be the best way we have to involve younger generation in the service mission of Lions Clubs. Visit or to learn how to get involved and also visit

We Serve : By promoting our activities. To encourage every Lions Club and District to reach out to the local media whom we make known that Lions Club stands for service. That the Lions Clubs should invite the local media to visit a service project to see first hand impact that Lions are making.

「 Use local media to show to the public that Lions are making a difference 」

My Vision and My Mission

My vision is to follow the idea of the International Association and to serve the members. As the result of it, the Clubs can be strengthened and increment in members.

My mission is to have a long-range plan to set up a development program for the future Lions movement.

First of all, we have to lay down a solid foundation for our Lions in all respects about Lions. The areas cover code of ethics, objects, Lionism, protocol, Club level and District level.

Secondly we have to strengthen the Club by building membership through our meaningful services which will have a great impact to the Government as well as to the community.

Mission (1) To serve our members and Clubs (a) By establishing more resources to the services fund such as relaunch of credit cards (b) By establishing a fund raising platform. (c) By introducing more handy communication among Lions by improving IT facilities. (d) By introducing Intensive Training Programs (1) District academy (2) New members orientation (3) Train the trainers

Mission (2) To serve the community (a ) By meeting the vision of our International requirements (b) By establishing different service platforms with different Government departments; (c) By establishing a lot of functional committees to facilitate our service projects

New Committees Established (1) Long-range plan committee (2) Marketing & Promotion committee (a) Commercial (b) Academy (c) Government (3) Resource exploring committee (4) Train the trainer committee

(5) Internal promotion committee (6) Photograph committee (7) Recreation & Sports (a) Table Tennis (b) Diving (8) Lions police activities promotion committee (9) Lions social welfare activities promotion committee (10) 獅子會中聯辦聯絡
