ENDER’S GAME LION KING

STEP #1: Ordinary World Ender’s Game: Ender is a little 6 year old boy trying to fit in, but he’s finding it impossible because he’s a Third. And Third’s don’t fit in. Though the other kids tease him with their words, they can’t be too terrible because he has his monitor. But one day, the government has it removed, and a particular bully, Stilson, targets him. Ender, sick of being taunted, fights back. In an attempt to win this “battle” and the ones after, he unknowingly commits a murder. Lion King: Simba is a normal lion cub. He’s rowdy, playful, and more than a little curious. He’s followed around by a bird named Zazoo, so is usually very obedient. One morning, Simba has his dad show him the kingdom, and discovers that not every land is owned by the lions. There is a place on the edge of a horizon called the Elephant’s Graveyard.

STEP #2: The CALL TO ADVENTURE Ender’s Game: Knock! Knock! Ender’s adventure begins with a simple knock on the door. One minute he’s a scared little boy, afraid of getting in trouble. The next he’s being asked to go to Battle School. Lion King: When Simba first enters an Elephant Graveyard, his adventure begins. He and his friend Nala abandon Zazoo, and race into the creepy cemetery. It’s dark and foggy and full of hyenas.

STEP #3: REFUSAL OF THE CALL Ender’s Game: When Colonel Graff is asking Ender if he wants to go to Battle School, Ender has second thoughts. He doesn’t want to leave Valentine behind, and doesn’t know how his parents will feel. Most of all, he’s unsure about what will happen to him. It’s not until Graff explains to him his parent’s predicament that he decides to go. Lion King: After Scar kills his dad, Simba runs away. He does not want to step up and take his rightful place as king, and he thinks that running away will make his problems go away. So not thinking about the consequences for everyone else, Simba runs into the desert to relieve himself of confusion.

STEP #4: MEETING THE MENTOR Ender’s Game: Ender meets the Mind Game. That, throughout this whole book is his mentor. It teaches him how to deal with difficult situations, and be flexible. It also helps him learn to read his enemy. Lion King: Simba is introduced to Pumba, Timon and the Monkey. They teach him not to worry and to be calm and loose. But they also give him enough motivation to fight his fears.

STEP #5: CROSSES THE THRESHOLD Ender’s Game: Ender is put in Command of his own army. The Dragon Army. He is a great Commander but not quite prepared for it. However, Ender is still observant and smart, and he knows that things are different with him as a Commander. Not just with his army, but with others as well. Lion King: When Nala discovers that Simba is still alive and well, she tells him about how bad things are in the kingdom. Things change with Simba and he sees things differently, even after Nala leaves to go back home. He doesn’t know what to do.

ENDER’S GAME: ENDER’S GAME: Ender’s first real test is being a Launchie in a Soldiers world. But he accepts the challenge with pride and will, and is soon to be known as the best Commander in Battle School. However, he doesn’t do it alone. At his side he has Alai, Dink, Petra, Hot Soup, Crazy Tom, and Bean. They help him fight his battles, and a few enemies such as Bonzo and Bernard. STEP #6: TESTS, ALLIES, & ENEMYS Lion King: Simba’s first challenge is to return to Pride Rock. He is afraid. Afraid of the memories that surround that place. But he knows what’s best and his companions and friends are with him the whole way. Timon, Nala, and Pumba help to encourage him forward.

STEP #7: THE APPROACH Ender’s Game: Ender is on the stimulators day and night. He doesn’t know that he is fighting real battles, he just thinks it’s practice. Controlling them 24/7, Ender is on the verge of collapse but something pushes him forward as he prepares for the final war. Lion King: Simba mentally prepares to fight his newfound enemy Scar as he swiftly approaches Pride Rock. Things run through his head, over and over, reminding him of why he is going to fight this battle. And as he arrives at his destination, his fire is rekindled by the sight of all the bad things that have happened to his home.

STEP #8: THE ORDEAL Ender’s Game: Ender has the final war against the Buggers. Everyone says that this is just his final exam to see if he passes Command School, but really he is fighting a real life battle. Lion King: Simba has his fight with the hyenas. In order to get to scar, he must fight of his guardians, so he poses a duel with the hyenas. It is hard, but between him and his friends, he manages to defeat them.

STEP #9: THE REWARD Ender’s Game: Ender wins the war…. Lion King: Simba is granted access to Scar.

STEP #10: THE RESURRECTION Ender’s Game: He is brought back to the mind game. Only this time, it’s real. Everything. The wolf-children, the giant and his elixir, and the castle beyond the edge of the world. Lion King: Simba must perform another fight. This time…it’s against Scar. He battles him in the rain and fire until finally he wins and sends Scar to a painful death in the jaws of the hyenas.

STEP #11: THE ROAD BACK Ender’s Game: Ender wants to deliver the baby queen to a safe planet where she will be safe. Far away from the humans who want to kill them. Lion King: Simba must restore the Pride Lands back to their original state in order to complete his victory. He wants to be the King to save the Kingdom.

STEP #12: RETURN THE ELIXIR Ender’s Game: Ender finds a home for the bugger queen and lives his life in peace. Lion’s King: The Pride Lands are restored, and Simba rules the kingdom justly. He even has a cub of his own
