TAACCCT Grant Overview $500 million in FY 12 grant funds –27 Consortium Projects funded in Round II Purpose: –Expand and improve the ability to deliver education and career training programs that can be completed in 2 years or less (i.e. Capacity Building + Training) –Focus is on TAA-eligible individuals and veterans, but others can be served –Improve employment outcomes

State-wide Project Overview  “Making the Future” is a state-wide project designed to develop, improve, and expand adult educational training pathways to careers in advanced manufacturing  Each College identified a scope of work that was based on local district needs and was within project parameters and manufacturing focus  Consortium grant is $15M  Disciplines focused on are Machine Tool, CNC, Welding, and Industrial Maintenance

System-Wide Strategies Shared by All Districts per SGA Prior Learning Assessment Tool  Consultant for adult and experiential learning will visit colleges, facilitate workshops and trainings, and provide a final report that proposes system- wide recommendations for awarding credit for prior learning

System-Wide Strategies Shared by All Districts per SGA Technology  Flash Cards developed by FVTC  Colleges will receive a Standard Timing Model (STM) machine and training: STM is a mechanical tool used by industry to assess mechanical aptitude, skills, and instincts  Online case management/information sharing system to be developed in collaboration with the Workforce Development Boards

Consortium Goals 1.Increase the attainment of industry-recognized credentials 2.Introduce innovative and effective curriculum development and delivery 3.Increase and improve employment outcomes

Year 1: Start-Up/Development Activities External Evaluator Develop Master Logic Model Purchase Equipment Develop Data Protocols (Coordinate with WTCS and DWD) Prior Learning Assessment Hire Faculty and Project Leads Pathway Work (e.g. revise curriculum, program development and/or modifications)

Years 2-3: Full Implementation New workers in pipeline Industry-drive roadmaps/pathways to manufacturing careers are developed System-wide marketing strategy implemented to promote careers in advanced manufacturing Information sharing among districts and partners On-line repository of flashcards

Year 4: Evaluation Data collection, analysis and report out Repository of individual case studies available for broader dissemination Multi-partner communication toolkit that includes best practices Programs/grant pathway enhancements are self-sustaining
