ROOT CAUSES Application errors - Legacy systems have a host of problems validating particular user inputs Human errors - User inputs may not be congruent to the business perspective ●user inputs a date of purchase that does not agree with the plan Legacy System manipulators - The user is held hostage to the demands of the system ●System only displays a single UOM for the user to input From a business perspective erroneous data inevitably leads to fatal conclusions and horrendous Investments. SIX HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS ANNUALLY of bad investments due to faulty data, according to the Data Warehousing Institute

EFFECTS ON IMPLEMENTATION 1.Persistent downtime at conversion, as well as hazardous problems during go-live. 2.Contaminated data converted over during implementation causes delays. It will cost time and money to sift through mountains of “garbage” data to determine which data is accurate, valid, consistent, and relevant to the business. 3.A prolonged implementation can cause delayed transactions, and interactions with vendors. This will have negative impact on relationships with important vendors!
