EIE EffCoBuild WP3 Energy saving potentials in building sector and virtual “power saving plant” Slovenia Survey on energy consumption in community Jesenice BCEI ZRMK: Marjana Šijanec Zavrl, Marta Skubic, Matjaž Malovrh, M. Praznik, M. Tomsic Jesenice, JEKO-IN: Branko Noč, Matjaž Peskar Meeting in Berlin, September 26-27, 2006 WP3 Outcome of this work package - Providing data of building stock by the community - Collecting data on building condition, building age, used energy sources, ect. - Identification of appropriate technical standard values for the energy demand of the different kind of buildings regarding their age and building condition - organising a workshop for the stakeholders in the community and introduce the results - Public Relation activities to spread the idea of “virtual power saving plant” (definite term will be fixed in accordance with the stakeholders in the community) Deliverable(s) of this work package Written report on the total energy demand and the energy demand in buildings, divided in different types of buildings. Written report on the saving potentials in the buildings in the community, including the description of the method used for calculation or estimation Workshop for the stakeholders to introduce and discuss the saving potentials Posters to demonstrate/visualise the energy saving potentials (e. g. with a virtual power saving plant) Role and contribution of each partner in this work package: (tasks and foreseen amount) The pilot communities, who will act as partners in the project, will provide data, such as building stock, building age, inhabitants, and if possible data on the energy deliveries (e. g. at district heating systems or natural gas supply) Each country consortium will gather additional data necessary to calculate the energy demands and the saving potentials, deliver the written report and create a poster to spread the results.

Refurbishment target Big energy users (1400 dwellings) in central Jesenice use more then 150 kWh/m². Final target energy use for dwelling with floor area 55 m2, is between 100 and 110 kWh/m². Short term target of municipality Jesenice is to reduce delivered energy for heating to 140 kWh/m². Municipality Jesenice developed 150 subsidy programme (started in 2000, currently enlarged!)
EffCoBuild Refurbishment target Municipality Jesenice developed 150 subsidy programme (started in 2000, currently enlarged!) thermal insulation of attics (unused attic) or thermal insulation of roofs (used attic), thermal insulation and renewal of façades, thermal insulation of basement ceilings or flooring, replacement of buildings’ joinery – windows and doors, switch over to district heating (connection to hot-water network and gas grid), installation of heat pumps for hot water generation, installation of solar systems for hot water generation, installation of special wood-fuelled combustion plants for central heating running on logs (biomass).
