SUBMISSION To God and To Others

If you truly want to walk in the authority, power and dominion that the Lord has for you, you will walk in submission.

The more authority you have the more you will walk in submission…not less.

Ecclesiastes 3 “For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time together stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek and time to lose; a time to keep and time to cast away; a time to end and a time sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.”

**It is possible to remain submissive even when obedience is impossible.**

Characteristic of a Submissive Person Humility Transparency Respectfulness When unable or unwilling to obey they will also: Place himself or herself under the person next in line of authority when unable or unwilling to obey. Be willing to suffer consequences their action or inaction causes.

**Submission is YOURS to give NOT something OTHERS CAN DEMAND.**

Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego – Daniel 3: Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

“ When Abigail went to Nabal, he was in the house holding a banquet like that of a king. He was in high spirits and very drunk. So she told him nothing until daybreak. I and my maids will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”

Romans 13: 1-6 “ Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4 For he is God’s servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God’s servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.

5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience.6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
