Letter of Recommendation Student must produce one Letter of Recommendation from someone other than a family member. Example on school website in Culminating Project link:

Student logs on to Careercruising.com 1. Student selects a job or post-high school institution of interest to research 2. Student prints minimum two pages of information researched Four different careers and/or schools (one for each year in high school) must be researched and information printed.

1. Student completes Four-Year Plan sheet showing classes taken throughout high school. 2. Only one completed sheet needs to be in Portfolio  Upload this sheet four times in eFolio to satisfy update requirements for each year.

 Must have cited electronic sources  Can be from any class  Can count as: 1. Research Paper 2. Tech Proficiency 3. Best Work

Students must complete the following: 1. Graphic Organizer (Student’s resume satisfies this requirement) 2. Spreadsheet w/Graph (advisory assignment will be given to complete; example next slide) 3. Word Processed document with graphics (Student’s cover of Portfolio satisfies this; example upcoming slide) 4. Information Literacy (Research Paper)

Once the advisor has checked off the student’s Portfolio they will give the student a Certificate noting so.  Example next slide

Q) I am a transfer student. What all am I required to do?  A) All that is required are those artifacts listed under the year of entry into the district.  If you spent two years in Kent you will only need to:  Complete 2 of the 4 mentioned Tech Proficiencies  Complete 2 Best Works (one for each year in Kent)  Have two HS and Beyond researched papers

Q) When do I have to have everything put in eFolio?  A) A drop dead date will be set around the end of April.  Failing to complete this task will delay you getting your diploma.  eFolio must be checked as complete in order for your transcript to show you have met the State requirement for:  Culminating Project and High School and Beyond

Q) What if I no longer have my Tech Proficiency work?  A) You will have to redo them since we now accept the Portfolio Cover Page, Resume, and an Excel assignment as Tech Proficiencies. Q) When will I know when I do my Senior Presentation?  A) In February students will be randomly selected and be given a day/time to present.  Students may volunteer to go the first days

Q) What happens if I am not ready to present on my assigned date?  A) If not ready, students will be given ONE more opportunity to complete their presentation on a date assigned by staff.

Q) What if I fail my presentation?  A) Those who have failed, it’s usually because of one of two reasons:  Did not meet the required time limit (10-12 min), OR;  Did not refer to Portfolio at least three times  If failure is due to one of these two reasons and the presentation met all other requirements, the student must meet with an administrator to discuss what could have been added/deleted from the presentation to meet requirement.
