1 Part 5: Closing Task 1 Kelvin asked you to help him prepare and present the final project presentation. Prepare a short presentation to summarize result of the project with ten to fifteen slides that you would give in a fifteen- to twenty- minute presentation to Six Sigma Steering Committee. Include slides describing each phase of the project, from initiating through closing. Highlight project changes and how the were managed. Be sure to emphasize the financial value of this project for this group.

2 Summarize each phase of the project Initiating (Part 1) Summarize each of the proposed project in a simple table format. Write a memo to management, including appropriate back-up information and calculation. Prepare a weighted decision matrix to evaluate these four project. Print the spreadsheet and bar chart. Define skill requirements for the project manager for this project.

3 Research information on the Internet related to similar project done to improve coding efficiency and reduce the amount of processing power needed by large companies. Prepare a business case for the Coding Performance Improvement Project. Prepare a project charter for the Coding Performance Improvement Project.

4 Planning (Part 2) Describe your “dream team” for this project. Assign what type of people want to the team. Develop a team contract. Prepare a stakeholder analysis for this project. Develop a scope statement for the project. Develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for the project. Create a Gantt Chart and network diagram. Create a spreadsheet to estimate project costs, clearly labeling an information. Create a probability / impact matrix.

5 Controlling (Part 3) Review the Gantt Chart in part 2. Update the Gantt Chart. Print the earned value table. Update the costs estimate in part 2. Create an update financial analysis. Determine the NVP, ROI and payback period. Use the financial analysis for business case template. Describe what we would say to these members of your former dream team.

6 Controlling (Part 4) Research the DMAIC process. Write summarize the step involved and how it would apply to this project. Discuss whether or not we think some of the team members have legitimat complaints and why. Create a Pareto Diagram. Develop a project web site and then post the pages on the internet. Prepare a short presentation.

7 Closing (Part 5) Prepare a short presentation to summarize result of the project. Prepare a lessons – learned report Prepare a final report. Prepare more detailed information on how the financial benefits of this Coding Performance Improvement Project. Write report describe how the benefits could be calculate and how they could be automated. Update the project web site.

8 Prepare a milestone report. Develop an agenda. Write several alternatives for addressing these challenges.

9 Financial value of this project Enhance computer processing power. Increased productivity. Cut support costs RM7 million annually. Raised customer satisfaction 30% Increased revenue. Lower costs but higher payoff. Maximize investment.
