Mythology Short Answer Retake Just a reminder and another alert. Reminder: Students have until May 8th to complete the proof-of-practice (from my last message), and re-take the matching mythology test. They can earn up to a 70% as per English department policy. New alert, since there is not another opportunity to study mythology specifically, there will also be a re-take option for those students who did not pass the short answer portion. The proof of practice will be a half-page detailed summary of the myth for each of the questions missed on the first test. They were given time with their tests today to mark the questions they missed, so they should have them today when you see them. Questions whose answers were one word will require a require the repetition of the definition for one half-page, such as: "Hubris is excessive pride. Hubris is excessive pride." Or a summary of all of the situations wherein that concept is evident, such as: "Odysseus' hubris was ____________ and gets him into trouble because..." The new test will be on the same myths and concepts as the first, but will be asking about different aspects of the myth. The proof of practice and test must be completed by Monday, May 3pm. Please be advised that the Shakespeare/Romeo and Juliet unit is in play (pardon the pun) currently as well. So all of this practice and re-testing will be extra work. Students must complete their current work in such a way that they will be able to pass the next assessment.
