Obtain scientific and other technical knowledge about the costs and effects of social and health care policy instruments. Help ensure that Health Care and Social Services implement targeted initiatives that address social inequalities in society-at- large Provide advice on health care and social services priorities based on professional assessments, socio- economic analyses, ethical considerations, etc. Draw up a national research programme in health care and social services. Intensify the State authorities' emergency preparedness efforts with a view to health care and social services. Contribute to effective international efforts to develop health care and social services.
