Digital Citizenship

1. Digital Access- Users need to be aware and support access for all to create a community of Digital Citizens. Can be very useful in education to further learning.

2. Digital Commerce- Understanding that our market type economy includes online purchases. A pro is that consumers are presented with more options. A con is that consumers have to reveal personal information online.

Digital Literacy- Digital learners need to learn how to use new technololgy quickly and appropriately. This includes the process of learning about technology and how to use technology.

Digital Etiquette- Understanding the standards of conduct in the digital world. This includes , social media, use of websites and safety. Cyberbullying includes facebook stalking, harrassing via any social media, hacking accounts and posting unwanted photos of others.

Digital Law- Taking responsibility for your online actions and understanding that real world consequences exist in a digital world. It is illegal to download music from places like Frostwire because that music is copyrighted and not paid to be downloaded.

Digital Rights and Responsbilities- Digital citizens have the right to free speech and privacy. Technology must be used in an appropriate manner for digital citizens to continue to be productive.

Digital Health and Wellness- Eye saftey, repetitive stress syndrome and sound safety all have to be taken into consideration as digital citizens. These dangers, along with the potential for internet addiction are growing conerns.

Digital Security- Other digital citizens steal, disrupt and deface other people. Security to prevent these things is a must in the digital world. Passwords, anti- virus, data backups and surge controls help.
