NMED 2030 As New Media students you have access to: –3CCD & HDV video cameras –Lighting kits –Tripods –Audio equipment –Post-production facilities & Storage –Ask the Proctor’s at the B519 lab desks for more information

NMED 2030 There is an expectation that you come to this class with video production basics –Knowledge of how to turn on a camera –Knowledge of how to import video footage into Adobe Premiere This is a liberal arts university course NOT a technical course –You are here to author and composes media texts –You are here to develop your voice NOT to master software

NMED 2030 Primary paradigm –Every film or video is the sum of three considerations: Production –Includes pre-production Distribution –This is the strategy for finding an audience for your work Exhibition

NMED 2030 Industry film and video production is a highly collaborative process. No one person can be an expert in all areas. The strongest productions depend on the sum of individual talents.

NMED 2030 Group Production Step #1: Each student is to write a script based on two sentences. (i.e. Johnny woke up late. He made it to his exam just in time.)
